Definitive Proof: The Real News Is Fake News (Includes Original Song Lyrics)

Sol Luckman

I'll allow the talking heads in this chilling video below to speak for themselves before commenting.

Here’s my comment, in the form of song lyrics I wrote a couple years ago. The song is called “Turn to the Mirror” and the words go like this:

If you can’t see
What’s goin’ on
I can’t see it for you

If you can see
What’s goin’ on
Know that I adore you

How many times
Must things happen this way
Before you turn to the mirror
Face yourself and say

If you can’t see
What’s goin’ on
I can’t see it for you

If you can see
What’s goin’ on
Know that I adore you

How many times
Must people lie this way
Before you turn to the mirror
Face yourself and say

If you can’t see
What’s goin’ on
I can’t see it for you

If you can see
What’s goin’ on
Know that I adore you

How many times
Must hope be blown away
Before you turn to the mirror
Face your shadow and say

If you can’t see
What’s goin’ on
I can’t see it for you

If you can see
What’s goin’s on
Know that I adore you

If you can’t see
What’s goin’ on
Wake up I implore you

If you can see
What’s goin’ on
There’s lots of work now for you

1. Goldman Sachs Analyst: Curing Patients Not a Sustainable Medical Business Model

Carey Wedler, Anti-Media

One of the most reviled companies in the United States recently gave Americans yet another reason to distrust their power: a recent Goldman Sachs report reveals the company questioning whether or not curing chronic illness is compatible with a sustainable business model.

In an internal report viewed by CNBC about the potential of the biotech industry and gene therapy titled “The Genome Revolution,” analysts asked: “Is curing patients a sustainable business model?”

“The potential to deliver ‘one shot cures’ is one of the most attractive aspects of gene therapy, genetically-engineered cell therapy and gene editing,” wrote analyst Salveen Richter. “However, such treatments offer a very different outlook with regard to recurring revenue versus chronic therapies,” analyst Richter wrote in the April 10 report.

“While this proposition carries tremendous value for patients and society, it could represent a challenge for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flow.”

Richter cited a hepatitis C drug manufactured by Gilead Sciences that achieved a 90% cure rate. As CNBC noted:

“The company’s U.S. sales for these hepatitis C treatments peaked at $12.5 billion in 2015, but have been falling ever since. Goldman estimates the U.S. sales for these treatments will be less than $4 billion this year, according to a table in the report.”

In light of the reduced profits as a result of the success of the drug, Richter wrote:

“GILD is a case in point, where the success of its hepatitis C franchise has gradually exhausted the available pool of treatable patients. In the case of infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, curing existing patients also decreases the number of carriers able to transmit the virus to new patients, thus the incident pool also declines … Where an incident pool remains stable (eg, in cancer) the potential for a cure poses less risk to the sustainability of a franchise.”

Indeed, cancer is a highly profitable disease. In 2015, the world spent $107 billion on cancer drugs, and according to 2016 projections, that number was expected to grow to $150 by 2020. Further, Gilead Sciences, which Richter singled out as a company losing profits due to cures, was still the second-most profitable pharmaceutical/biotech company in the world in 2017, earning over $12 billion in net income.

Richter, who did not respond to CNBC’s request for comment, offered several ideas to cope with the “problem” of healing patients. He suggested targeting large markets, such as those suffering from hemophilia, because hemophilia is a $9-10bn WW market (hemophilia A, B), growing at ~6-7% annually.” In addition, he advised clients to target disorders with high incidences, such as spinal dystrophy, as well as focus on “[c]onstant innovation and portfolio expansion.”

Additionally, Ars Technica reported, the analysis “hints that, as such cures come to fruition, they could open up more investment opportunities in treatments for ‘disease of aging.’”

Goldman Sachs confirmed the authenticity of the report to Ars Technica but declined to comment on its contents.

2. Have You Spiritually Outgrown the Matrix Yet?

Dylan Charles, Waking Times

Information is only valuable if it can be used to advance your life in some meaningful way. If it doesn’t serve that purpose, then it is just a distraction from living.

And the crux of the matrix is distraction.

When you’re distracted from creating and living a meaningful and positive life, the matrix wins. When you’ve no time to give to imagining what this life might look like or feel like if you were in control, the matrix wins.

It’s not that the matrix is a top-down conspiracy led by a round table of cigar-smoking suits. It’s really a system of compliance, complacency and comfort. In other words, we all contribute to it in our own way. With our own free will, we all put bricks in this wall, because it’s what everyone else is doing, and we feel like it’s what we should also be doing.

This is the whole paradigm of consumer living, celebrity culture, the endless drama of political spectacle, and the endless desire to stand out in the herd. Think of the social media corral and what a waste of energy all that is.

If you’re paying attention to your life, though, you eventually see through this.

All of the conspiracy theories, bad news, world events, suppressed history, and collective speculation at some point must be recognized as necessary stepping-stones on your way to total awakening.

Their purpose in your soul journey is to jolt you out of contemporary consciousness and get you looking at the reality of your life, the brevity of it, and the pressing need to move on with being yourself in spite of any and all forces that wish to conquer and control your spirit.

It’s a process of outgrowing the matrix, and if you’re really paying attention you’ll instinctively know when it’s time to jump ship and move beyond these narratives and false realities. Your intuition will tell you when you’ve had enough and when it’s time to move on.

Carl Jung’s work details a process he referred to as individuation, which is a keen way of looking at this. The matrix is the group and we are trained to be members of this herd. But this is not our truest nature. Deep down, we are spiritual beings, capable of infinite levels of individuality and awareness, but when this awareness is choked down and focused on the material here and now, being part of the herd is what feels good. Until it doesn’t, then you’re on your own. Blissfully on your own, carving your own path and creating your own trail.

So, have you spiritually outgrown the matrix yet? Has your spirit seen enough and learned enough to tell the difference between an existence in the rabbit hole and an existence in the realm of infinite possibility?

Is your spirit ready to fly above and beyond the walls of the psychological prison ensnaring most of us?

It’s perfectly OK if it has not. It will someday, though, so hang on and don’t give up.

In my experience as a member of the alternative media, I’ve learned that the vast majority of people out there are still seeking confirmation of their worst fears in the morass of endless information available to us. And it’s often the darkest and lowest of frequencies that have the most gravity and the most pull. The gnarly stuff pulls us in and works to keep us down.

It’s our job, however, as individuals to evolve beyond this and rise above this. When we do, the fear is the first thing to go, and true freedom is the first reward.

Not to beat to death the metaphor of the matrix, but there is a short scene in the Matrix Trilogy which puts images to this idea. Food for thought, so enjoy.

3. Stanford Physicist Finds Bitcoin Transactions Mirror Laws of Physics

Josie Wales, Anti-Media

In the wake of Bitcoin’s meteoric rise in popularity, interest in the dynamics of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has skyrocketed over the past year. With bank-based blockchain projects poised to revolutionize the world of financial services, researchers continue to study the new technology to better understand the inner workings of the blockchain, as well its economic, social, and technological implications.

One such researcher from Stanford University recently uncovered a parallel between cryptocurrency transactions and the structure of swirling liquid that may help develop more advanced digital security, help validate precise procedures used in drug development, and even further our understanding of physical processes in nature.

In a study published recently in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Stanford applied physics doctoral student William Gilpin explains how swirling liquids like coffee follow the same principles as cryptocurrency transactions. Cryptocurrency transactions are encrypted through a complex mathematical function called a cryptographic hash. Hash functions work by “mathematically transform[ing] digital information into a unique output that disguises the input. Hash functions are deliberately designed to be complex, but they also remain consistent so that the same input always produces the same output. However, two similar inputs will likely produce very different outputs.”

Gilpin said he noticed “similarities between the way hash functions work and the physical laws involved with stirring a liquid” and decided to explore it during a winter break.

Focusing on a principle called chaotic mixing, Gilpin found that the equations in mixing a fluid were almost identical to the properties of a hash function. “I wasn’t expecting it to perform that well,” Gilpin said. “When it looked like it satisfied every property of a hash function I started getting really excited. It suggests that there’s something more fundamental going on with how chaotic math is acting.”

In addition to helping develop more secure ways to protect information, this connection could also be used to improve drug development methods that require injecting various fluids at specific points in time, according to Gilpin. “If you don’t form the correct arrangement when you’re done, then you know that one of your processes didn’t go right,” he said. “The chaotic property ensures that you’re not going to accidentally get a final product that looks correct.”

The findings also indicate that cryptographic computations occur not only in the digital world but also in nature. According to Gilpin, “Something as ordinary as a fluid is still performing computations. It’s not something only humans tell computers to do. It’s something that nature does and it shows up in the structure of how things form.”

While Gilpin is not himself a computer scientist or drug developer, he’s excited about the doors this discovery will open in other fields. “Having an actual physical model and showing that this is a naturally occurring process might open up new ways to think about those functions,” he said.

4. New CRISPR Gene Editing: The Extreme Dangers

Jon Rappoport

Technologynetworks.com (6/26/17): “CRISPR gene editing is taking biomedical research by storm. Providing the ultimate toolbox for genetic manipulation, many new applications for this technology are now being investigated and established. CRISPR systems are already delivering superior genetic models for fundamental disease research, drug screening and therapy development, rapid diagnostics, in vivo editing and correction of heritable conditions and now the first human CRISPR clinical trials.”

All hail.

It’s called CRISPR, a much faster, more precise, and cheaper technique for editing genes. Researchers are in love with it. You can find hundreds of articles and studies fawning over the innovation.

At phys.org, however, we have this, ahem, warning note (5/29/17): “… a new study published in Nature Methods has found that the gene-editing technology can introduce hundreds of unintended mutations into the genome.”

Oops.

“In the new study, the researchers sequenced the entire genome of mice that had undergone CRISPR gene editing in the team’s previous study and looked for all mutations, including those that only altered a single nucleotide.”

“The researchers determined that CRISPR had successfully corrected a gene that causes blindness, but Kellie Schaefer, a PhD student in the lab of Vinit Mahajan, MD, PhD, associate professor of ophthalmology at Stanford University, and co-author of the study, found that the genomes of two independent gene therapy recipients [mice] HAD SUSTAINED MORE THAN 1500 SINGLE-NUCLEOTIDE MUTATIONS AND MORE THAN 100 LARGER [GENE] DELETIONS AND INSERTIONS. None of these DNA mutations were predicted by computer algorithms that are widely used by researchers to look for off-target effects.” (Emphasis is mine.)

“’Researchers who aren’t using whole genome sequencing to find off-target effects may be missing potentially important mutations,’ Dr. Tsang says. ‘Even a single nucleotide change can have a huge impact’.”

Genetic roulette is alive and well.

Spin the wheel, see what numbers come up. Good effects, bad effects, who knows? Step right up and take your chances.

Of course, researchers who admit these tremendous problems remain optimistic. They look forward to “refining the method.” That’s a cover for: “we really don’t know what we’re doing right now.”

Unfortunately, much science operates in this fashion. Launch a new technology, and turn a blind eye to the consequences. For example, place mercury, a devastating neurotoxin, in vaccines. What harm could result—aside from the destruction of children’s brains.

Here is more gushing PR, otherwise known as throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks:

“There are weekly press releases and updates on new advances [in CRISPR] and discoveries made possible with this technology; the first evidence is now emerging that CRISPR-Cas9 could provide cures for major diseases including cancers and devastating human viruses such as HIV-1.” (technologynetworks.com, “CRISPR: Emerging applications for genome editing technology”)

The train has left the station.

And just in case you think only the most careful and competent leading lights of the genetic research community would be permitted to get within a mile of CRISPR, here is more from technologynetworks.com:

“CRISPR-Cas9 systems, tools and basic methodology are very accessible as ready to go toolkits that anyone with lab space and an idea can pick up and start working with … In response to a growing need, companies such as Desktop Genetics have developed open access software to accelerate CRISPR experimentation and analysis.”

That’s good to know. “Anyone with lab space and an idea” can jump on board and have at it.

Do your own cross breeding of the pregnant phrases, “What could possibly go wrong,” and “Nothing to see here, move along,” and you’ve summarized the situation.

“They say they cured my anemia, but now I turn green and purple and I keep falling down.”

If all this isn’t enough to make you see the dangers of CRISPR, consider this statement about engineering human immune cells (T-cells) in a “safer” way. From statnews.com (June 23, 2016):

“The experiment would alter the immune system’s T cells only after they’re removed from a patient. That gives scientists the chance to screen the CRISPR’d cells to make sure only the three intended genes, all involved in making T cells find and destroy tumor cells, are altered. But after those T cells are infused back into a patient to fight melanoma, sarcoma, or myeloma, the CRISPR system can keep editing DNA, and tracking such edits becomes like following a polar bear in a snowstorm.”

Not very comforting. Once set in motion, even under the most protected and limited conditions, CRISPR can keep on working, scrambling genes in unknown ways.

5. 5 Rules for Eating away Your Depression

Kelly Brogan MD Team, KellyBroganMd.com

The Path to Wellness Is through Food

If you are one of the estimated 15 million Americans suffering from depression, you may be surprised to learn that the path to wellness and vitality is through food.

The Western diet of heavily processed, denatured foods has been widely linked to rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Did you know that it’s also linked to poor memory function, hyperactive immune response, and inflammation, all of which affect symptoms of depression?

The Gut-brain Axis: Your Second Brain

Our digestive systems know when we are under stress. Whether it’s feeling too nervous to eat, or experiencing “butterflies” in the stomach when we feel excited, it’s clear that our thoughts impact digestive functions. But why is the gut being called our “second brain”?

The enteric nervous system, or ENS, is the cellular lining covering the entire GI tract. The ENS sends signals to the brain via 100 million nerve cells. Scientists at Johns Hopkins University explain it this way:

The gut doesn’t seem capable of thought as we know it, but it communicates back and forth with our … brain—with profound results. For decades, we thought that anxiety and depression contributed to digestive disorders, such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, etc. But … studies show that it may also be the other way around.

What Signals Is Your Gut Sending?

The Standard American Diet (appropriately called SAD) is creating an epidemic of poor digestion. Gas, bloating, pain or exhaustion after meals is commonplace. Diagnoses of bowel disease like colitis, IBS, and Crohn’s are rising worldwide, especially among people age 15 and under.

Take control of the signals your gut is sending to your brain by following these basic rules.

5 Rules for Eating away Your Depression

1. Avoid Trigger Foods

Unfortunately, most packaged items on standard grocery store shelves will fit into this category. Boxed meals, bottled sauces, and processed vegetable oils contain additives that can wreak havoc on the gut lining and have been linked to systemic inflammation and thyroid dysfunction.

The further food gets from its natural state, the more likely it is to trigger an inflammatory response in the gut.

Symptoms of inflammation such as fatigue, brain fog, flat mood, PMS, and constipation are all frequently reported by depressive patients. These signs of systemic inflammation are psychiatric pretenders—they mimic symptoms associated with mental illness—which explains why depression has been called an inflammatory disorder.

To heal inflammation in the body, eliminate foods that are known to be inflammatory triggers. Purge your pantry, tossing out all:

  • Refined sugars
  • Dairy
  • Gluten
  • Grains (including corn)
  • Soy
  • GMOs
  • Coffee
  • Alcohol

This highly effective dietary protocol requires adherence for 30 days to reset the body. After this cleansing phase, pay strict attention to how you feel if you reintroduce any of these foods back into your diet.

2. Go Organic

Purging your pantry of trigger foods can leave you wondering, “What is there to eat?” Fortunately, the answer is simple: real, organic food. Finding healthy options is easier than ever before because of the growing demand for it, and it isn’t as costly as you might think.

People naturally prefer the most flavorful foods, which, as nature would have it, tend to be organic. But did you know that your health, as well as that of future generations, may depend on it? Non-organic foods contain higher-than-ever levels of pervasive pesticides and herbicides like glyphosate, which are known to cause endocrine disruption, damage DNA, and even cause birth defects.

By choosing a whole foods-based, organic diet, you not only get the healthiest and best-tasting foods, you support the long-term health of our species, and the planet. Now that’s something to feel good about!

3. Guard against Deficiencies

It may surprise you to learn that many individuals who are clinically obese are actually malnourished. Micronutrient deficiencies are increasingly appearing, as overuse of pesticides and herbicides deplete the soil used to grow our food.

Going organic helps, but denatured soil isn’t the only culprit behind nutrient deficiencies. A person can take in adequate nutrients, yet factors like stress, smoking, pharmaceuticals, and environmental toxicants often interfere with the body’s ability to absorb them. Western diets are frequently found to be lacking in the following nutrients, all of which are essential to mood and energy regulation:

  • B12

Supplementing low levels of B12 has proven “among the most useful, safe, and effective” treatments for a host of psychiatric conditions.

  • Magnesium

Magnesium is considered one of the most beneficial supplements available, providing relief from ailments such as PMS, poor thyroid function, and depression.

  • Zinc

Zinc deficiency is often found concurrent with a psychiatric diagnosis. The important role zinc plays in immune system regulation, sexual health, and basic cellular repair make this another mineral that cannot be overlooked. Our bodies can’t store zinc, which makes supplementation even more critical if adequate levels are not maintained through diet.

Essential Fatty Acids

The human brain is more than 60% fat, so consuming adequate amounts of healthy fats is critical for optimal mental health. Essential fatty acids or EFAs, promote cellular regeneration, build new brain tissue, and cushion and protect neural pathways. Still, more than 70% of Americans are believed to be deficient.

These vital nutrients cannot be manufactured by the human body, so be sure to include lots of the following foods as part of your healthy diet:

  • Dark, leafy greens
  • Oily fish such as wild-caught salmon, mackerel, and sardines
  • Pastured eggs
  • Sprouted nuts and seeds

If you’re worried that eating more dietary fat will derail your weight, don’t. Optimal metabolism is a natural consequence of the blood-sugar-stabilizing effects of a high natural fat diet.

4. Restore Your Microbiome

If you haven’t heard of the microbiome, let’s get into it. The human microbiome is the internal community of living microorganisms that supports healthy digestion and immune system response, among other useful functions. It is made up of trillions of cells that continually report to the brain on the state of the body.

The gut-brain axis refers to the vagus nerve pathway where this signaling takes place. When the organisms in the microbiome send distress signals, a host of health effects can occur, from depression and other psychiatric complaints, to brain disease, stroke, and seizures.

There’s no denying the negative impact the modern American lifestyle has on this bacterial ecology. Rapid urbanization, proliferation of environmental toxins, and denatured food all place growing burdens on the gut, while the overuse of antibiotics undermines beneficial bacteria that are essential to maintaining this delicate, internal balance.

When the microbiome is compromised, gut contents pass through the lining of the gut wall and into the bloodstream, where they drive inflammation and often present as symptoms of mental illness.

Adherence to an ancestral, organic diet will do much to restore a damaged microbiome. Probiotic supplementation has proven to be extremely effective in treating depression through restoration of beneficial bacteria in the gut. One or two teaspoons per day of fermented foods should be added to your list of powerful safeguards against the ravages of the modern age.

5. Eat Consciously

A diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis served as my wake-up call to examine what I was asking of my body. Fueling late nights with sugar and caffeine had culminated in a state of listlessness, hair loss, and brain fog. That was not my normal state—rather, it was a state of emergency that I took very seriously.

Whether the alarm is sudden and undeniable, or slow to awaken us, the point is that we wake up—and become fully conscious of what—and how—we feed ourselves.

Do you often eat at your desk, while processing an endless stream of emails? Do you sometimes eat standing up, too rushed to even call it a meal? When we eat unconsciously we deny our bodies the experience of nourishment. Is it any wonder that our bodies often struggle to digest food?

Take time before each meal to really take in your food: look at the colors, savor the aromas, appreciate the nourishment your meal is providing. This sends the first signals to the brain that it’s time for digestion to begin.

Let your mouth water! Saliva contains powerful enzymes that pre-digest food as you chew. Chewing slowly and thoroughly will ensure that you receive the optimum benefits of these powerful digestive juices.

Finally, promote a feeling of gratitude for what you are about to consume. The journey our food takes from farm to table requires several levels of sacrifice. Acknowledging the part that you and others play in the lifecycle of your food will deliver the full range of nourishment that food can provide.

Food is information. With every bite we take, we are programming our bodies for tomorrow. What signals is your food sending?
